bested the New York Yankees 13 to 9 at Exhibition Stadium.
Bell had a good day at the plate. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 1st
inning, slapped a one-base hit plating a run in the 2nd inning and banged out
a single in the 3rd inning. Toronto out-hit New York for the game, 16 hits
to 13.
The win went to Jose Nunez(6-3) who allowed 1 run in 3 and 2/3 innings. Nunez
was helped out by David Wells who recorded his 1st save. Rich Bordi(4-3)
took the loss in relief. He was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and 6 walks in
6 innings.
