Denny McLain went 9 solid innings as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Baltimore
Orioles by the score of 4 to 0 at Tiger Stadium.
Baltimore never recovered after Detroit took the lead in the bottom of the 4th
inning plating one baserunner on 2 hits. Detroit banged out 7 hits on the
afternoon.
For McLain(12-4) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Jim Hardin(5-3) was hit
with the loss. He pitched 5 innings allowing 3 hits and 2 walks.
Detroit extended their winning streak to 6 games.
