Bill Hands allowed Leo Durocher to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at Fulton Co. Stadium as the Chicago Cubs beat the Atlanta Braves 6 to
3.
Chicago brought 4 runs across the plate in the top of the 3rd inning with the
help of 5 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Chicago had 8
hits for the night.
The win went to Hands(20-9) who allowed 3 runs in the game. The losing pitcher
was Pat Jarvis(16-8). He surrendered 8 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
