1987 World Series Game 3

October 20, 1987

The 1987 World Series moved to Cincinnati for Game 3 tied up 1-1. The Reds came out swinging and pounded the Detroit Tigers 11-4. Detroit's Walt Terrell, who was 20-9 during the regular season, was chased in the 4th inning after giving up 8 runs (4 unearned). Cincinnati's Buddy Bell had a fine night at the plate going 3 for 4 with a homerun and 4 RBI. The Reds now hold a 2-1 advantage in the Series.

Third baseman Buddy Bell slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI at Riverfront Stadium
where the Cincinnati Reds beat the Detroit Tigers 11 to 4.
 
The Cincinnati fans enjoyed the offense provided by Bell.  He blasted a solo
shot in the 2nd inning, laced a single which was good for two runs in the 3rd
inning and stroked a base-hit in the 6th inning.  Cincinnati finished with 14
hits while Detroit ended up with 9.  
 
Ron Robinson(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Walt Terrell(0-1) took the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 3
walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
