23,033 fans were treated to a fine game at Crosley Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Cincinnati Reds won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
Cincinnati drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
plating an isolated run. Gary Nolan(3-2) got help from Jack Fisher who
pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 3rd save.
Pat Jarvis(16-9) suffered the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 6 innings of
work. Cincinnati now has a record of 70-64. With the loss, Atlanta has a
record of 5-5 lately, 84-55 overall.
